UK's Major Sporting Venues November 2005

Terra Tek continues to build on its proven track record of involvement with major contractors on high profile projects. In the past year Terra Tek at Chesham has been involved in the redevelopment of two of the UK's major sporting venues.  Working with  Laing O'Rourke, Terra Tek are providing essential geotechnical work around the new Wembley Stadium and at Ascot Racecourse.  Most of the testing performed has been in-situ California Bearing Ratio, Nuclear Density and Plate Load testing with high volumes of related BS:1377 classification and compaction testing performed at our UKAS accredited laboratories.

At Wembley we have been called in to perform mostly nuclear density and California Bearing Ratio testing on the formation and rolled sub-grade materials for new roads and paved areas as part of Laing O’Rourke’s infrastructure work for the major developments to follow around the stadium.

At Ascot Racecourse we have attended site almost every working day for more than a year, providing a range of in-situ tests at very short notice to enable the building work to proceed without delay.
