Nuclear density gauges are used for the rapid determination of the in-situ density and moisture content of soils and compacted materials used in the construction industry.

Terra Tek operate an instrument hire service from our Chesham laboratory. We have a large number of Troxler model 3430 and 3440 hand-held portable nuclear density gauges available for hire on a weekly basis to suitably licensed organisations in England, Wales and Scotland. We also hire out gamma radiation monitors used in conjunction with NDG’s for personal radiation protection purposes.

Our clients include construction companies and environmental consultants, particularly those involved in the quality control of landfill site lining materials.

All of our instruments are covered by calibration and leak test certification, and delivery if required is by a specialist courier.
